Siriraj Medical Museum

Wayfinding design for the Death Museum inspired by the human skeleton. The museum located in Bangkok, Thailand. It is the oldest medical institute of Thailand. The hospital was established by King Rama V in 1886. The faculty of medicine gathered various pieces of equipment and documents in order to put the museum together, as a place for learning and for students to study.

The Siriraj Medical Museum consists of six distinct museums, each covering different aspects of medical science. The Ellis Pathological Museum focuses on cancer and fetal development, while the Songkran Niyomsane Forensic Medicine Museum features forensic advancements, including autopsy tools and the mummified remains of Si-Ouey, a notorious serial killer. The Congdon Anatomical Museum explores the human organ system with detailed dissections of both humans and animals. The Soon Sangvichien Prehistoric Museum and Laboratory delves into Thailand’s prehistoric history, displaying artifacts from millions of years ago. The Touch Exhibits Museum provides tactile experiences for visually impaired visitors, and the adjacent Parasitology Museum showcases parasite-infected organs and diseases caused by protozoa.
